From our Founder & President

On behalf of all of us here at F.I.R.S.T. and T.B.S., I want to personally thank you for taking the time to read about our various products and services.

First Independent Rotor Services of Texas (F.I.R.S.T.) is an independent repair consulting firm that caters to end-user needs within the gas and steam turbine repair industry. We are headquartered in Houston, Texas, and serve both domestic and select overseas end users at some of the most well-known gas and steam turbine repair facilities in the world.

It is through F.I.R.S.T. that we offer repair consulting and shop surveillance to our customers. We provide an expansive array of services and products ranging from on-site technical trouble-shooting, pre-, ongoing and post outage support, specialty turbine modifications, 3rd party shop inspections, repair shop surveillance, repair scope writing and End of Life inspection services for rotational and stationary components.

Technical Bolting Solutions (T.B.S.) is our manufacturing arm that supplies very specific lines of gas and steam turbine consumables. We manufacture thousands of fasteners as well as specialized rotor, joint and casing bolting. We can fill orders as large as complete turbine outage kits or as small as a single one bolt. Simply put, we supply every bolt and nut for many of the gas turbine rotors.

Together both F.I.R.S.T. and T.B.S. builds (and/or modifies) gas and steam turbine repair facilities via design concept, structural and specific engineering, use of repair flow methodologies for both domestic and international companies.

FIRST – First Independent Rotor Services of Texas is a consulting company that works with major oil refineries and utilities in North & South America, Europe and in Southeast Asia. The company provides expert consulting advice in the field of gas, steam and nuclear turbine rotor repair and component repair. Surveillance and vendor qualification are two of its primary functions,  but the company also consults to customers at the pre-outage planning stage as well as near and distant strategic planning/implementation process. In addition, FIRST has highly skilled expert technical directors that can direct, train, advise and/or trouble-shoot. We offer training to our customers via class room and hands on applications. A large portion of the company’s expertise lies with the many types and styles of Westinghouse and General Electric families of turbines but experience in many other OEM types also exists.

TBS – Technical Bolting Solutions was started in 2003 and is a bolting manufacturing company supplying high class bolting and fasteners to the gas, steam and nuclear turbine machine industry.  We use precision engineered quality methodologies and state of the art CNC machines to produce high quality bolting and fasteners for the Power Generation Industry. We specialize in turbine bolting manufacturing that includes thread rolling and center-less grinding of material from 1/8” to 12”.
